The Dandy

luca1

Overview

In the early 1800’s, a British gentlemen named Beau Brummell revolutionized men’s clothing by popularizing the look of wearing a waist coat and trousers. Brummell and his followers were coined “Dandies”, who are now considered the origin for the modern status quo of men wearing suits and ties. The text content of this book explores the history of dandyism, and is sourced from the introduction of Nigel Roger’s book The Dandy: Peacock Or Enigma? This is a hand made, hardcover book with a pocket square on the cover. Throughout the book, full page images of dandies past and present are featured. Each dandy is accompanied by one quality of the dandy, according to dandyism.net’s Anatomy of a Dandy.
